Yep, I’m still around

Tue 18, September 2007 22:04:19

Hello everybody. Not a lot of updates lately - quite some time since the last post.
So, what’s new - there’s a few extra hot fixes, a couple of extra languages available and I’ve upgraded to WP 2.2.3. That’s pretty much it :) I’m thinking that there might enough bugs and fixes to make a version 3.1, but I was still holding for something more significant.
And don’t forget that the OneWorldToSee.com project is still alive as well!

Things are shaping up

Massive update today. The blog is finally taking shape, both in page structure and content. Hard work, I have to say… my dreams at night are filled with killer Javascript functions and monsters made of CSS declarations 8O…

Happy New Year, KBurnalizer 2.0 and other updates

Sun 14, January 2007 15:11:38

Happy New Year to you all! That’s right, this is first post of 2007, and it comes with some updates :)
First, KBurnalizer 2.0 is available, together with the G2 plugin. This has been in the works for some time now, although progress was quite slower than I thought. There are a few enhancements, being the most important one that it doesn’t require all images to be preloaded anymore - the slide show starts as soon as one image is ready, and the rest gets loaded while the show is running. Really handy for those large albums in Gallery that took ages to start ;)
Get it from the Cool Stuff, or head on to the Photos section to see it in action.

There are also a few more localizations for vSlider available in the languages page: Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), French, Spanish and an update to the German version. Thanks to Vincent, Lidia Boutaghane, Javier Turégano and Felix ‘buebo’ Kakrow respectively.

Finally, there are also a few new photo albums and some general cleanup being made on that section.

Oh, and thanks to the anonymous “Paul” that sent me the Scotland photo book! I always like to thank personally people when they send me stuff, but sometimes you just make it really hard to know who you are! :?

Now, let’s try to answer some of that email has accumulated over the last weeks (or was it months?? 8) )

I’m back!

Hello everybody!

No, iRui.ac is not dead. After a long (long, long, long, looooonggg…) period of inactivity, finally there is a new post. Yupee!

“What have you been doing?” you might ask. Well, tons of stuff. A lot has happened in my life since July, but I won’t bother you with details. Suffice to say that we’ve moved to a great new place, and I’m finally settled in. Well… not entirely true, there’s still some work needed, but enough has been done to call it “home” :). In case you are wondering, we are now living in Almere, a city quite close to Amsterdam.

So, what’s next?

First let me just say that I’m still amazed on how many people are using the “cool stuff“… there are now hundreds of blogs out there (maybe thousands???) using vSlider, and even KBurnalizer, which started just as a fun experiment with Javascript and CSS, has become quite popular – even though it still has a few problems (long loading times anyone?). Also, I would like to thank everyone for the nice comments, emails and a special note of thanks to the anonymous cool guy that sent me “India: A Celebration of Independence” book from my Amazon wish list – I’ve tried really hard to figure out who you were, so that I could thank you personally, but no luck. So, whoever you are, thanks!

As for plans, I have a couple of new ideas, but I don’t want to go into them right now… For starters, I’m considering some improvements to existing stuff, and later on we’ll see.

Last, but not least, there are three new language files for vSlider: one German and two Italian. Thanks to buebo, Giovanni and LELE …. Check them out on the languages page!

I’m moving…

Hi everybody! Sorry for not replying to emails and comments, but I’m currently moving to a new house - it’s a lot more work than I thought! I rarely have the time to even touch my computer…
So, have some patience, and I will get back to you as soon as I have everything organized and sorted out (and actually have a place to type!).
In the meantime, if you see requests for help from other users and you feel you can help them out, please do so. The power is in the community.
