Well, adding the CAPTCHA in the comments to prevent spam wasn’t such a great idea after all. It seemed to be working great - my spam was reduced to 0! But unfortunately it also has problems generating a proper image, so it was preventing legitimate comments from being created. Sorry!
And when I just about to start looking into the problem, I find out that it also has the nasty side effect of preventing trackbacks. So, I guess I won’t be using this anymore. If anyone has a good suggestion on how to best fight comment spam, please do share

Rui- I love the theme and use it on my families website. Thanks for making it public.
Re: Spam. Have you tried the Akismet plug-in? http://akismet.com/
Its worked really well for me.
Also, could you post the a jpg of the white frame you use your banners?
Thanks, Matt
If you want to fight commentspam, Akismet is the way to go. Just installed it a few days ago, comment spam was beyond control, and it’s zero for me now. I haven’t had any false positives either.
Rui, I too love and use your theme and I was one of those who wanted to comment but douldn’t
I’m happy with Spam Karma, it just works and never let me down on my and a friends blog.
I’ve actually started using Bad Behavior. I’m pretty happy with it. I’m still not 100% spam free, but 99%… which is acceptable to me
CAPTCHA is a technique which is almost outdated
Have a look @ a pandasoftware blog…

You can see a PHP forum spam program in action which automatically deals with CAPTCHA authentication. Pretty advanced stuff if you ask me.
Anyway, just dropped in to check out your vSlider theme. Looks really great. Thinking of using WP and your theme for my new site.
